Elke and Lothar had been traveling Europe with their caravan all of their lives. When Elke came down with dementia, they set off on a last trip. Sibylle Fendt accompanied them. On 22 March she will present her book "Gärtners' Voyage" in Berlin. The photographers Joerg Glaescher, Sven Jacobsen and Malte Wande will also be present to showcase their new projects.

The "Mona Lisas of the Suburbs" go to Hamburg's city center.
For their first collaboration, Werner and Ute Mahler traveled across Europe and portrayed young girls between city and countryside, between child and woman.

In the summer of 2008, Sibylle Fendt accompanied a trip through Europe, which represented a journey into unknown terrain in a twofold meaning. The series "Gärtners' Voyage" is now being published as a book by Kehrer Verlag.

Each OSTKREUZ photographer has a special project, which arises from a very personal interest and is very close to his heart. For Joerg Brueggemann it's the metalheads. For three years he has traveled the world and photographed heavy metal fans. In Argentina and Brazil, Indonesia and Malaysia, in Egypt and the United States, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The result are images that say a lot about how globalization works today: the same everywhere, but interpreted differently in every place.
Friday is Metalheadsday: the book at Gestalten-Verlag is released and an exhibition opens in Berlin.
Well-deserved: The film "My life - The photographer Sibylle Bergemann" was awarded two Grimme-Preise! We congratulate director Sabine Michel and everyone at IT WORKS!.

For their feature „Das Vorspiel“ journalist Carolin Pirich and OSTKREUZ photographer Tobias Kruse have been awarded the Hansel-Mieth-Preis 2012. The award is given annually for ambitious text and image reports in German print media.
