Heiner Müller himself had invited Sibylle Bergemann to photograph his theatre production at Deutsches Theater.
From 1987 until 1990 she moved about so quietly that the subjects were often surprised to discover themselves in her pictures. Sprechsaal in Berlin-Mitte shows the photographs with many accompanying events.

Equally important is the personal interaction in the collective. We are driven by an approach to reality tying us together. In collaboration we develop ideas, support each other or just spend time together.
Nobody knows an OSTKREUZ-photographer and her work as well as a second OSTKREUZ-photographer. That's how we came across the idea of mutually introducing each other on our blog. Espen Eichhoefer opens this series by telling us how he got to know Dawin Meckel and what is exceptional about his photography.

Portraits of Karl Marx' bearded head have been swarming art, culture and advertising since one and a half centuries. An exhibition at Marx hometown Trier now brings together the most important images. Including one, in which the famous beard is obscured by a cloud: Sibylle Bergemann's Marx-Engels monument in front of the sculptor's workshop.
