Arno Fischer - Exhibition and Film
10.02.2011 | | MiscellaneousOn 14 October 2010 our friend Arno Fischer received the Hannah Höch lifetime achievement award. The accompanying exhibition 'Arno Fischer. Photographies 1953-2006' will be on show at Berlinische Galerie until 28 February 2011.
In the course of Berlin's long night of museums on 29 January 2011 the 30-minute documentary 'Life in Picture – Arno Fischer, photographer', directed by Thomas Martin and Hannes Gieseler and accompanying the preparation of his book 'The Garden' (2007), was shown at the museum. Those who have missed it can watch it on the website of Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, which dedicated him a retrospective in 2009.

Miscellaneous - Memorial ceremony for Sibylle Bergemann
03.12.2010 | | MiscellaneousOn 6 December 2010 the Academy of Arts Berlin will commemorate its long-time member Sibylle Bergemann in a memorial ceremony.

Besides Werner Mahler many other companions and friends such as Ulrich Domröse, Ruth Eichhorn, Claudia Engelbrecht, Matthias Flügge, Barbara Klemm, Heike Misselwitz, Stefan Raum, Renate Schubert, Jutta Voigt and Johanna Wieland are going to deliver an address.
The singer and actress Meret Becker, whom Sibylle Bergemann repeatedly portrayed from 1997 to 2009, will accompany the evening with musical performances.
Subsequently, the documentary film 'Sibylle Bergemann. My life' (director: Sabine Michel), which had its premiere on 10 November 2010 at Babylon Cinema, will be shown.
The memorial ceremony will take place at the location Hanseatenweg 10 and start at 18h00. The admission is free. -

At the premiere of 'Sibylle Bergemann. My life' (2010; ZDF/ARTE) on 10 November at Babylon cinema both screenings were sold out. We are glad to announce new dates when the documentary film will be shown:
25 November 2010/ 18h00: Staatliches Museum Schwerin (discussion with the director Sabine Michel after the screening)
6 December 2010/ 18h00: Ceremony of the Academy of Arts Berlin in memory of Sibylle Bergemann
16 January 2011/ 16h30: TV premiere on ARTE
Before the premiere in Berlin, the director Sabine Michel spoke about the film on rbb Kulturradio. In order to listen to it, the Real Player is required.
Short clips of the film are part of a TV comment on Sibylle Bergemann broadcast by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk on 4 November 2010. -

Various - Arno Fischer awarded with the "Hannah-Höch-Preis"
14.10.2010 | | MiscellaneousOur friend and photographer Arno Fischer will be awarded with the "Hannah-Höch-Preis" for his lifework. The artprize carried with 15.000 Euro has been awarded since 1996 by the Berlin senate’s admin of art for an outstanding artistical lifework. The awards ceremony will take place today (thursday), the 14th octobre at 19 pm in the Berlinische Galerie. The award ceremony’s combined exhibition will be shown from 15th octobre 2010 untill 28th february 2011.
