Autonomous National Socialists

The image of the right wing extremists in Germany has changed extremely. While several
years ago, domes, boondockers and bomber jackets coined the scene, today a new group made their mark: The „Autonomen Nationalsozialisten“. 

They knowingly copy apparel and behaviour of the left-wingers, on the one hand to transport a new youthful image and on the
other hand to forbear from the classical figure of the neo-Nazis. Besides they are organized independently from any parties and groupings. So it occurs that on right wing demonstrations sneakers replace boondockers and copied anti-Fascist logos; even Che Guevara shirts
appear. The „Nationalen Autonomen“ aware play with clichés and attitudes, those make them more anonymous in the general streetscape. This causes confusion for the political opposers, especially the police.
