The Rich

With the financial crisis the rich get a lot of press attention again. They are few, but they own a lot. While everyone else is getting poorer, they are getting richer. 

They are having an easy life and make life difficult for others.
In reality, we know very little about the top one percent of our society. Apart from the glossy magazines, where some celebrities are shown at parties, beaches or villas, or the business section of major newspapers, one sees little of them. Many rich people live hidden, they do not show off, they want their peace and quiet.

For a series in the Spiegel Magazine Maurice Weiss went to see Germany's rich. He photographed them in their professional and personal environment.
