Charité Berlin

by Thomas Meyer

The university hospital Charité is one of the largest in Europe. It is a joint institution of "Freie Universitaet Berlin" and "Humboldt-Universitaet zu Berlin". More than half of all German Nobel Prize laureates in medicine and physiology come from the Charité, among them Emil von Behring, Robert Koch and Paul Ehrlich. Thomas Meyer photographed the institution, which is rich in tradition. In 2010 the Charité celebrates it´s 300th anniversary. The images are illustrating the interplay between high technology and monotonous daily routine in a realistic way.
